A long time ago, like 30 miles from where I currently type, I was young. Being the young little devil I was, I enjoyed many things. I enjoyed bike riding, eating, playing soccer, and last but not least, playing video games. I discovered free realms in about 2010 when its advertising really picked up on youtube. Usually, I had had a bad run in with ads before and didnt want to repeat the cycle, but despite my own judgement, I checked it out... And my God was it fun. Not only was it really fun, but the lifetime membership bundled with the different things you could do really peaked my interest. I must've hassled my mom 24/7 just so I could get the best looking sunglasses or the fancy Vanoss hair. The best part was how I was playing the game on Intel HD 3000 Graphics... and I still enjoyed the game to its fullest. I remember, vividly, how laggy it was to do anything and the huge difficulty I ended up having when you would set up on the beach looking to trade in game currency for a hover board.
Ahh the good old days... I wonder what it was like for other people...

FreeRealms was the majority of my social life from 2009 up until closing. I'm pretty sure one of my neighbors told me I should play, and that was how I got into the game, can't really be to sure. But, at any rate, I was hooked on the game since day one. I spent a considerable amount of time just exploring everything, collecting all the collectibles and exploration coins, leveling up various different jobs (my favorites being adventurer and pet trainer, though I also spent a considerable amount of time being a ninja), and hanging out with a bunch of friends I had made along the way.
I was Lilwolfspirit, and I spent hours upon hours hanging out with Xaladin, Jake9488, Scar Razgriz, Octavio Sombralobo, and various other people. A lot of our adventures consisted of roleplaying, which Xaladin was the person who dragged me into that (and, subsequently, I dragged everybody else I name-dropped into it as well). Some of them were even continued outside of the invisible barriers! (That was another thing I enjoyed doing, was trying to find the cracks in the invisible barriers to get outside of the map, haha). To this day I still keep in contact with some of my friends, even.
It was... A lot of fun. FreeRealms has been quite the life changing adventure for me, and tbh my life would be drastically different if it wasn't for that game.

It was like watching a good friend die, watching Free Realms in the last few moments. As dramatic as that sounds. But Free Realms was really special to me. All throughout growing up, I played the games that were before multiplayer--Mario Bros., Sims 2 Pets, and Lego Star Wars. Then Club Penguin and Free Realms came around and introduced me to "multiplayer." Unlike Club Penguin, You could really express yourself in FR. Through your home, clothes, rides, and so many other things. It was special and I'll never forget knowing how to spell "traveler" because I wanted traveler pants so bad, haha. I'm nearly 20 years old now and I'm in love with video games still. I play Grand Theft Auto V as if it fills that void. But it seems Free Realms was a one-of-a-kind experience.

My next door neighbor (who was my best friend at the time) and I played this game every day after school and all day on the weekends. We would try and find each other's avatars and run around together, forming friendships with strangers. We were around 10 years old at the time and we would always lie about our age to hang out with the older kids. I also remember seeing commercials for Free Realms and always trying to get my other friends to play when they saw it on tv. Alas, they were never cool enough.

FreeRealms had opened a whole new world for me. It was the first time I had ever met or made friendships over the internet. I started playing at around ten years of age. I’ll never forget the friendships I’ve made, for they were so genuine. I always loved playing in snow hill during Christmas time for all the fun quests and rewards. I loved playing in Briarwood during Halloween. I fell in love with the soundtrack for The Sanctuary and Seaside. Those are things you’ll never forget. I’d give anything to play one more time. Even at my current age of 21. I miss it dearly.

This game was my life. I literally made so many friends I never thought I would ever have. I was having a really rough time during my younger years and this game got me through it every step of the way. When it was shutting down, I thought my life was gonna end. I had been playing the game for 5 years and all of my progress and friends were gone. I think about FreeRealms any time I start playing a new game. Nothing is compared to FreeRealms.. Please bring it back.
